INDIAN CONSTITUTION IMPORTANT ARTICLES
Article 10: Continuance of the rights of citizenship = Every person who is or is deemed to be a citizen of India under any of the foregoing provisions of this Part shall, subject to the provisions of any law that may be made by Parliament, continue to be such citizen
Article 37: Application of the Directive Principles = The provisions contained in the part IV shall not be enforceable by any court, but the principles therein laid down are neverthless fundamental in the governance of the country and it shall be the duty of the State to apply these principles in making laws
Article 67(b) = a Vice-President may be removed from his office by a resolution of the Council of States passed by a majority of all the then members of the Council and agreed to by the House of the People; but no resolution for the purpose of this clause shall be moved unless at least fourteen days notice has been given of the intention to move the resolution
Article 85(2) = The President may from time to time (a) prorogue the Houses or either House (b) dissolve the House of People
Article 102: Disqualifications for membership = 102(1)A person shall be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of either House of Parliament - (1a) if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State, other than an office declared by Parliament by law not to disqualify its holder (1b) if he is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court (1c)if he is an undischarged insolvent (1d)if he is not a citizen of India, or has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a foreign State, or is under any acknowledgement of allegiance or adherence to a foreign State (1e) if he is so disqualified by or under any law made by Parliament
Article 110: Definition of Money Bills = it states that a bill is deemed to be a money bill if it contains 'only' provisions dealing with all or any of the following matters: (1) the imposition, abolition, remission, alteration or regulation of any tax (2) the regulation of the borrowing of money by the Union government (3) the custody of the Consolidated Fund of India or the Contingency fund of India, the paymkent of moneys into or the withdrawal of money from any such fund (4) the appropriation of money out of the Consolidated Fund of India (5) declaration of any expenditure charged on the Consolidated Fund of India or increasing the amount of any such expenditure
Article 143: Power of President to consult Supreme court = if at any time it appears to the President that a question of law or fact has arisen, or is likely to arise, which is of such a nature and of such public importance that it is expedient to obtain the opinion of the Supreme Court upon it, he may refer the question to that Court for consideration and the Court may, after such hearing as it thinks fit, report to the President its opinion thereon
Article 262:Adjudication of disputes relating to waters of inter-state rivers or river valleys 262(1) Parliament may by law provide for the adjudication of any dispute or complaint with respect to the use, distribution or control of the waters of, or in, any inter-state river or river valley. 262(2) notwithstanding anything in this Constitution, Parliament may by law provide that neither the Supreme Court nor any other court shall exercise jurisdiction in respect of any such dispute or complaint as is referred to in clause(1)
Article 320: Functions of Public Service Commissions (1) it shall be the duty of the Union and the State Public Service Commissions to conduct examinations for appointments to the services of the Union and the services of the State respectively
Article 338: National Commission for Scheduled Castes. it is a constitutional body in the sense that it is directly established by Article 338 of the Constitution, present in part IV entitled as 'Special Provisions Relating to Certain Classes'
Article 281: Recommendations of the Finance commission = The President shall cause every recommendations made by the Finance Commission under the provisions of this Constitution together with an explanatory memorandum as to the action taken thereon to be laid before each House of Parliament
